FA5000‐16‐T‐0171 Amendment 0002 Attachment September 9th, 2016 Q&A Document

Q1 ‐‐‐ Can we utilize cpu caddy options and can we utilize better storage capabilities.

A1.1‐‐‐‐ Key spec we want to maintain ‐ The purpose of having the storage/drawers on the bridge is for quick and easy access to shared documents/binders needed for mission from both consoles.

A1.2‐‐‐‐ Key spec we want to maintain ‐ Unit must be built with ability to store CPU, all cabling and any additional hardware within the structure but still have the ease of access from both sides of the console.

Q2‐‐‐‐ Will you accept fpds on lift but not on slatwall?

A2‐‐‐‐ Key spec we want to maintain ‐ Monitor arms and accessories must be mounted on slatwall to utilize the maximum amount of desk surface.

Q3‐‐‐‐ Is rounded edge banding acceptable?

A3‐‐‐‐ Rounded edging is fine but must be replaceable by user

Q4‐‐‐‐ “Monitor Arms‐ In the updated spec sheet you gave us this morning, it states in line (6), that the monitor arms must be able to hold a minimum of 40 lbs. A 30" monitor is about 16lbs. Is there something larger they're wanting to mount to the slatwalls? The maximum we have found is 16 lbs for a slatwall mounted monitor arm. We can spec monitor arms to hold upwards of 40 lbs, but they are only able to be grommet or clamp mounted to the worksurface. Please advise.”

A4‐‐‐‐ The AKRCC has a flat screen communication system (Multi Voice Platform) at each console position. The system weighs approximately 26lbs and can be mounted on a fixed or adjustable arm. Per the contractor, the screens must be mounted on an arm able to hold a minimum of 40lbs. AKRCC must adhere to this requirements to avoid expensive replacement cost. At this time we are looking at the possibility of adding additional units at each position. All arms and led lights must be able to mount to the slat wall per spec.

Q5‐‐‐‐ “Is the end user absolutely set on the setup the way it is? I think we may have found an option that serves its purpose and even allows for more flow throughout the room and would save money rather than custom pieces for the setup."

A5‐‐‐‐‐ The set‐up advertised is the preferred set‐up. However, we are open to review substitute set ups but the vendor must take into account the following items when doing so. 1) Two separate radio systems an aircraft data communication system and voice recorder must be shared between the two primary console positions (current cockpit/bridge position). These systems require three separate CPUs and two 24" monitors. These systems must be integrated in a way that both controllers can utilize the equipment with little to no departure from their primary position. 2) All CPUs and associated equipment must be able to be stored below or an adjacent area. 3) Both primary positions must have immediate access to shared binders/publications. 4) All positions must be able to view the console video wall without the controller moving positions. 5) Vendors offering substitution set‐ups should provide detailed drawings and specifications.

FA5000‐16‐T‐0171 Amendment 0002 Attachment September 9th, 2016 Q&A Document

Q6‐‐‐‐ Specifications state a ".rear slat‐wall with internal wire management raceways." , is required.

Please confirm if the 12" height is intended to be inclusive of the slat‐wall and the power outlets installed on the slat‐wall (overall height 12") ‐ OR ‐ Is the 12" slat‐wall height anticipated to be in addition to the area accommodating the power outlets and wire duct?? Suggesting, the overall height of the assembly should not exceed 16" (12" slat‐wall plus 3" to 4" for power outlets and wire duct = 15" to 16" maximum overall height)?

A6‐‐‐‐ The rear slat‐wall overall height will not exceed 12". Overall height will include power outlets and cable management pass through access.

Q7‐‐‐‐ Please confirm if the Phone/Radio Management Hardware is intended to be mounted to the under‐side of the work‐surface, immediately accessible to the user ‐ OR ‐ is the unit to be mounted inside the console base cabinet, accessible via the hinged front/rear panels?

A7‐‐‐‐‐ The Phone/Radio Management Hardware is intended to be mounted to the under‐side of the work‐surface, immediately accessible to the user. All four console positions will require this hardware.

The hardware must have access to a power strip located in the console unit.

Q8‐‐‐‐ Please confirm dimensions of the Phone/Radio Management Hardware @ 16" wide X 7" deep

(plus allowance for connectors & wire bend radius) x 1" high. Also, is mounting hardware included ‐ OR ‐ will a shelf or bracket berequired?

A8‐‐‐‐‐ Confirmed dimensions of the Phone/Radio Management Hardware ‐ 16" wide X 7" deep (plus allowance for connectors & wire bend radius) x 1" high. Mounting hardware or a bracket is not required and unit will be installed by current MVP contractor (General Dynamics).

Q9‐‐‐‐‐‐ Please confirm the 3‐Drawer Storage cabinet is intended to be fixed in position under the work‐ surface, attached to base cabinet and placed to one end of the console (either the users right ‐ or ‐ left).

A9‐‐‐‐‐ The 3‐Drawer Storage cabinet is intended to be fixed in position under the work‐surface and at one end of the console (will face away from center of the operations floor). This storage drawers will be built into the primary console unit, not attached.
