Q. There is an existing rail road crossing at Sta 3+50+/- on Hope Dr.

Yes there is.

Q. Is this an active rail road crossing? If so, will special RR insurance be required?

This is not an active railroad crossing. We attempted to include the removal of the rails crossing Hope Drive as part of this project, but were instructed by Base Administration that they are to remain in place.

Q. Will construction water be available within the Air Base. If so, are there any costs associated with purchasing the water?

There is a tap located next to Bldg 1400 where contractors can fill up their water trucks. Each contractor is responsible for bring their own equipment for connecting to this tap. There is no charge to the contractor for this water.

Q. There is a gas line in the area where we are supposed to construct a temporary 24 ft. wide road. Can someone tell us how deep this line is?

Gas lines are normally placed 35” to 48” below ground surface. After the location of the line is marked the contractor is responsible for determining the exact depth by excavating down by hand and shovel. The ground surface in that area is not even close to level. However, the gas line will be exposed by the contractor and depth verified before excavation begins.

Q. Will you be accepting an email bid or if you are requiring this bid to be hard copies?

We will NOT be accpting email bids, hard copy shall be submitted.

Q. Other than the government forms required to submit this bid, are any other past performance or capability statement required to accompany our bid?

There are no other requirements being added that are not already listed in Sections L and M

Q. Is there any grading information where the temporary 24 ft. access road goes?

The contractor is tasked to design the temporary 24’ road. Grading and drainage requirements will be discussed during the kick off meeting and enforced during construction.
