About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA487725QA116 regarding a Hazardous Material Storage Building. The Q&A addresses technical specifications for the building's Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system and related controls.
The document clarifies that the PLC system must maintain temperatures, pressure, and provide easy controls. Variable speed exhaust systems are required to accommodate different chemical types and amounts. The AC/Heater must send signals to the PLC when temperatures are out of range, as temperature control is critical to prevent waste of materials and increased disposal costs. Additional requirements include a preferred liquid level detector connected to the PLC, dry chemical fire suppression system integration with the PLC, and a preferred panel view interface.

Solicitation FA487725QA116 Hazardous Material Storage Building
Vendor Questions & Answers
Q1. What is the goal of the PLC? Maintain Positive Pressure?
A1. Maintain temps, pressure, easier controls, etc.
Q2. Variable speed on the exhausts?
A2. Variable speed is needed to count for the various amounts/types of chemicals that will be stored.
Q3. Does the AC/Heater need to be [able] to send a signal to PLC? Send signal to PLC when temperatures are not in range specified?
A3. Yes, the temperature control for the various chemicals that will be stored is critical. If temperatures are not in range, it could lead to the waste of hundreds of gallons of materials, loss of production, and an increased cost of material and disposal. We would like a signal sent for notification purposes.
Q4. Liquid level detector to the PLC or does it just need an alarm?
A4. Liquid Level Detector is preferred
Q5. Dry chemical fire suppression connected to PLC?
A5. Yes.
Q6. Does PLC need a panel view?
A6. Preferred.
