Questions and Answers

1. HVAC return- Does it get closed? Does it stay where it's at? Or does it extend to new wall opening?

Per SOO # 2 “BASIC DESIGN SERVICES: The Design-Build Entity (DBE) shall furnish all services, labor, expertise, materials, supplies, equipment, investigations, studies, supervision and travel necessary to produce construction drawings and specifications that completely and accurately represent the intent of this SOO. The DBE shall carry liability and other insurance as defined in the contract for services.”

Any design decision is entirely up to the contractor as long as it covers the intent of the Statement of Objectives.

2. How is battery room going to be heated or cooled?

Per SOO # 2 “BASIC DESIGN SERVICES: The Design-Build Entity (DBE) shall furnish all services, labor, expertise, materials, supplies, equipment, investigations, studies, supervision and travel necessary to produce construction drawings and specifications that completely and accurately represent the intent of this SOO. 3. Is the propose wall going to need a R-rating insulation?

4. Metal door frame- What type of door is it and what is the size?

5. Will we be able to leave our equipment in hangar area?

Per SOO # 27 “DELIVERY AND STORAGE: All equipment and materials delivered and placed in storage shall be stored with protection from the weather, humidity and temperature variation, dirt and dust, and any other contaminants. Store all materials in a secure, clean and dry location.

Contractor shall submit a location with dimensions for government approval.”

The contractor will submit a request for storage area detailing the location and dimensions. The request will need to be approved by the governement before the area can be used.

6. Will we be able to use the area dumpster?

Per SOO #21 “The Contractor shall recycle and/or salvage nonhazardous construction and demolition debris. Construction debris shall be contained on-site, collected and disposed offsite each day or as often as conditions dictate. The Contractor shall develop and implement a construction waste management plan that, at a minimum, identifies materials to be diverted from disposal and whether the materials will be sorted on-site or off-site. Submit the Waste Management Plan to the CO for the project record.”

7. Is staging next to building or hanger?

Per SOO # 27 “DELIVERY AND STORAGE: All equipment and materials delivered and placed in storage shall be stored with protection from the weather, humidity and temperature variation, dirt and dust, and any other contaminants. Store all materials in a secure, clean and dry location.

8. What is the time in advance if we need to shut down power?

Per SOO # 17 “PROJECT SCHEDULE: Construction (AF 3064 and Gantt) – No later than seven (7) calendar days of the notice to proceed for construction, the DBE shall provide a comprehensive, legible project schedule in PDF format indicating all major milestones, submittals, critical path items and the anticipated completion date for all construction activities. The Construction Schedule project schedule must be approved by the government prior to the start of construction activities, and shall be updated monthly or as events require. The schedule must be in the form of an AF 3064 and Gantt chart, and sufficiently detailed to enable tracking of construction progress and the anticipation of critical tasks. Gantt chart shall show the critical path of construction.”

9. Are we going to need a performance and payment bond with 20% bid bond?
