MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

FROM: 27 SOCONS Ms. Taneisha Harper

SUBJECT: FA4855-16-B-0014; CZQZ 14-0066; Repair Runway 0422 Overrun; Site Visit/General Questions (2 of 2)

1. A Pre-Proposal site visit was held on 14 July 16 at 1000 for the subject requirement to ascertain site conditions and provide familiarization of the base.

2. The following are questions presented as a result of the site visit (answers are in red):

a. SOW Para. 20 Low Profile Barricades directs Contractor to provide 25 low profile barricades, placed as directed by the CO. Drawing C-102 states work area is to be demarcated by low profile barriers placed at 20 max intervals. As the perimeter of the overrun is 2300 lf, this would require significantly more than 25 barriers. Please clarify.

CE- The areas on the overruns that will require the barriers will be limited to the accessible entry way for demarcation. These areas will be identified at the Pre-con. Addition Barriers will not be required.

b. Is it the intent of the contract to match the existing grade of the overrun by removing base course to accommodate the ¾" increase in pavement thickness?

CE- Yes

c. The Airfield Construction Waiver will take 45-60 for approval after submittal. Is this duration accounted for in the 80 day Period of Performance?

SOCONS- No the Airfield Construction Waiver approval process (45-60) days will not be included in the 80 day Period of Performance.

d. Can the site superintendent also act as the SSHO?

SOCONS- Yes, as long as all certifications for (SSHO) are met.

e. Will a FOD fence be required, as stated in Section 01 43 00-3.1.1.1?

f. Is traffic control required, as all work performed is on the overrun?

CE- No, not required

g. Please confirm rubber and paint removal is required only if paint is used for the displaced runway threshold.

CE- Please review the SOW for areas affected.

h. Will an accredited commercial testing lab be acceptable in lieu of an onsite or plant located facility?

CE- Yes. The Government will not be responsible for delays at the Gates for material testing.
