DESIGN/BUILD
STATEMENT OF
WORK FOR
CONSTRUCT 5 ISU STORAGE PAD
PROJECT: VLSB 17-0100 07 Jun 17
The Contractor shall provide all design, labor, material, equipment and supervision to complete the project to construct 5 concrete pads to support up to 27 ISU (10000lbs each).
Work shall include a reinforced thickened edge concrete pad. Concrete pads shall be constructed so as not to dam or puddle water on site. The concrete pad shall be a minimum of 2 inches above surrounding grades with rebar wire mesh and aggregate/sand base with broom finish. The contractor shall furnish and install all necessary drainage controls to keep the site free of standing water. Also pad sites need to be chosen and see if these area are reasonably level and would be suitable for this function. Provide site plan as a minimum as to locations for the prospective bidders. Contractor shall have a Shaw AFB form103 before work start for Utility tabs as to location of water sewer etc.
The Contractor shall take all precautions to ensure that their operations are conducted in a manner so as not to interfere with the normal operations of the specified facilities nor the safety and convenience of the base personnel. Normal working hours shall be 0730-1630, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Any after normal hour working time will be approved by the Contracting Officer.
The Project Inspector will serve as a point of contact for all demolition, construction and any required power outages throughout the repair process. Prior to starting construction, and just before completion of the job, the Contractor shall provide a draft and completed
(respectively) DD Form 1354, Transfer and Acceptance of DoD Real Property.
All work shall be done in accordance with the International Building Code (IBC), National
Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA), United Facilities Criteria (UFC), and Shaw Air Force Base Design
Standards, latest editions.
SPECIFICS:
- Place 5 each 20’ x 40’ pads 6 inch thick with a 12 inch thickened edge here with a 3 foot transition to the 12 inch thickened edge with saw cuts every10’, slab shall have #4 rebar 12” of center and aggregate/sand base with broom finish IAW ufc_3_320_06a (Slab on Grade).

GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES
a. Construction shall be in strict accordance with the Shaw AFB Design Standards. The information provided in this SOW, the provided drawings, and the requirements of the
Shaw AFB Design Standards shall be determined to be the minimum standards required in this project. Where the information provided and/or Shaw AFB Design Standards conflict, the most stringent shall be used. This includes all standards, codes, regulations and requirements provided by reference.
b. As built drawings, shall be sealed, signed and dated by a Professional Engineer (PE) who is a design professional in the area covered by the sheet(s) of the submittal they seal.
