FA466418B0003 – Running Track Lighting
Questions and Answers 11 September 2018
1. QUESTION: The SOW states that the light fixtures are to have a photo control receptacle. Other than that there are no mentions of disconnects or controls. Are these lights to have constant power and be controlled only by a photocell?
ANSWER: The lights are to have constant power and will be controlled by the photocell. The primary disconnect will be at the existing service panel. It’s at the contractor’s discretion on the use of the breakers in the panel, i.e. you can have one large breaker that can support all light poles or individual breakers for each light. Follow the National Electrical Safety Code.
2. QUESTION: Would you be able to provide an as-built of the Running Track showing length & width?
ANSWER: Track Width/Length: 200 ft x 1200 ft (inside edge to inside edge). The as-builts were provided on the initial solicitation.
3. QUESTION: Also what is the distance from the Electrical Panel to the edge of the track?
ANSWER: Approximate distance from just inside track to electrical panel: 350 ft
4. QUESTION: In regards to supervision, what key personnel is required to be on site during construction. Is a superintendent, SSHO, and QC required? If so, can either or all of these positions be covered by one person (dual hat or triple hat)?
ANSWER: Yes
5. QUESTION: Will engineering be required for light pole foundations?
ANSWER: No. Pole pedestals should be installed base on the pole manufacturer’s specifications.
6. QUESTION: Can you please provide an existing utility plan for the construction limits, to identify all existing UG utilities (water, sewer, electrical, comm/data, etc.)?
ANSWER: Once the project is awarded the existing utilities will be marked appropriately.
7. QUESTION: Is a soils report required by the Contractor to determine existing conditions and compaction requirements?
ANSWER: No
8. QUESTION: Please provide location of the nearest water source for the Contractor to use during construction.
ANSWER: Within 50 feet of the existing electrical panel.
9. QUESTION: Please confirm that all cost associated with the testing & inspection of the earthwork, concrete, etc., shall be included in the Contractors cost proposal?
ANSWER: Yes. Contractor is responsible for all costs.
10. QUESTION: Is the Contractor required to include structural design of the light pole foundations (concrete/rebar) and anticipated wind load calculations?
ANSWER: Yes. Responsible to meet applicable wind loads/etc for this region.
11. QUESTION: Please provide grounding/lightning protection details and requirements of the new light poles.
ANSWER: No grounding or lightning protection required.
12. QUESTION: Is the Contractor required to provide electrical design and calculations for the additional load at the existing panel?
ANSWER: Contractor must calculate all sizing and wire to support light.
