Computer Support Technician Questions
1. Will this be an ON Call effort or will it be continuous working for six and half months per year and then a break or will it be a guaranteed minimum 24 hours per week effort for the full year except holidays?
Answer: Hours would be 20 per week, except for federal holidays and Wing Down days as authorized.
There may be occasions when extra hours would be needed to support special needs; these would be worked with the contractor on a case-by-case basis. Usually, we would work with the contractor to work a different shift to cover emergencies or special needs. Additionally, if a holiday or down day falls on a normally scheduled work day, we would allow the contractor to shift those hours to use later on an alternate schedule to allow a personal holiday on normally scheduled work days.
2. Will travel time be considered as a part of the on call or will the service be recorded on the time sheets from the time the person reaches the offices?
Answer: Travel time is not considered part of the working hours. The time clock starts with the arrival of the contractor at the office.
3. Does the Government have a ticket system to identify queries and trouble and a helpdesk?
Answer: Yes, the Government (Air Force) has a ticket system in place through the 92 Communications Sq (92CS) and the NOSC at Scott AFB. This system is in place to manage computer issues with the network and 92CS.
4. Will after working hours support be required?
Answer: After working hours is generally not required, however, under an emergency issue or special needs, it would be negotiated after award of contract
5. Will the Government be providing the Technician with a cell phone or a pager for the services?
Answer: No
6. Please identify the exact working hours the person will need to be available?
Answer: Working hours are the core hours of 9:00AM and 3:00PM
7. Will the Government be reimbursing cost of travel to any location other than where the actual place of performance is?
Answer: No reimbursement for cost of travel. The contractor will perform support at the Education and Training facility, except for the occasional visits to the 92CS on base. Duties are always performed within commuting distance on-base. There is no requirement to travel off-base.
