STATEMENT OF WORK

REFURBISHMENT/UPGRADE OF BREATHING AIR SYSTEM

BUILDING 536

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON

• GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: This statement of work (SOW) is designed to define the expectations and deliverables for those individuals and companies that will assist the 437th MXS Joint Base Charleston for installation, repair and modification on the equipment for the following items below. The Contractor shall be completely mobile and self-contained to include industrial/ hazardous waste management, clean-up and disposal. All installation, repair and modifications shall be performed using qualified/certified mechanics experienced with the equipment below. The Contractor shall follow all OSHA safety standards, to include being in a harness, strapped in, etc., while on a lift and working on the government installation.

• SCOPE OF WORK:

2.1. The Contractor shall perform equipment services, including installation, repair and modification on all required equipment associated with the renovation/upgrade to the Breathing Air System located in Building 536 on Joint Base Charleston. The new equipment will be used in conjunction with the existing Sullivan/Palatek 30DG air compressor, located in the corrosion control section, and will feed purified breathing air to both the Composite Sanding Booth and the Small Parts Paint Booth. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment to carry out all work and operations as specified in this Statement of Work.

2.2. The Contractor shall perform equipment services, including removal of existing equipment, purchase/installation and modification of new equipment:

2.2.1. Demo and Removal of the following existing equipment:

• 2ea AIR SYSTEMS Model # BB50-COPM, Breathing Air Panels.

Existing electric hookups and copper tubing shall be saved for installation of new equipment.

• All existing “Grey Pipe” utilized in current breathing air operations.

2.2.2. Purchase and Installation of the following equipment:

• 1ea Ultra High-Purity Breathing Air Purifier with 3-stage mixed media absorbent bed and 54 scfm (inlet)/41 scfm (outlet) capacity. Energy Saver Dew point demand control option, and a panel mounted CO/O2 Monitor. Existing 115V power supply will be used for the new purifier.

Any additional service wiring that may be required, will be run for equipment by contractor.

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON

• 1ea 30”W x 72”, 200 Gallon Vertical Receiver Tank, powder coated exterior and zero loss drain. 316 Stainless Steel tank that has been cleaned for oxygen service.

• New copper air lines will be installed from the new breathing air purifier, through the receiver tank, and tie into the existing copper air lines where the current air filtration panels are located. All new piping material will be copper, and all existing copper air lines will be reused, and the black carbon piping will be removed.

• Equipment service pads, if required, will be installed by contractor

• All necessary assembly hardware shall be provided by contractor, including all required bolts, nuts, wiring, electrical components and caulking for a complete mechanical assembly. For easy assembly, exploded-view installation drawings should also be included.

• GENERAL INFORMATION: 437 MXS hours of operation are 06:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise notified by the Aircraft Structural Maintenance supervisor. 437 MXS is closed on all federal holidays.

• QUALITY CONTROL: The Contractor shall employ a commercial quality control program and procedures to identify, prevent, and ensure non-reoccurrence of defective services. Through implementation of the Contractor’s Quality Control program and procedures, the Government shall receive quality services meeting the requirements of the contract.
