SOLICITATION # FA4417-12-R-0053

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS # 4 – 9 May 2012

Q-1. In the PWS, 1.3.2. Service of Food, it states that “The Reef will be a combination buffet style/self service and contractor served” and in Technical Exhibit, Appendix 1, it states “that all meals are served Buffet style” and it also states that “The Reef does offer a sandwich/deli service during Lunch or Dinner. Contractor shall provide a server to prepare sandwiches to order during each meal period that the sandwich/deli line is open” … We are asking for additional clarification on the servers at the Reef. What is the extent of the duties of the server at the Reef?

A-1. PWS para 1.3.2 states all duties required of the servers.

Q-2. How many servers are required, how many days a week?

A-2. Refer to PWS para 1.4.1

Q-3. Does the sandwich bar just consist of cold sandwich? Are there any grilled, or cooked items?

A-3. A Panini grill and a conveyor oven are used for heating sandwiches.

Q-4. What meal periods are sandwiches served?

A-4. Lunch and Dinner: Refer to PWS Appendix 1, Note 2 (pg 21)

Q-5. What Days of Week are sandwiches served?

A-5. 7 days/week at the Reef and Mon–Fri at the Riptide.

Q-6. How many cashiers are required at the Riptide facility on Weekends/Holidays?

A-6. Refer to PWS Appendix 1, (pg 22) – the Riptide is closed on Weekends/Holidays.

Q-7. How many cashiers are required at both facilities during guard drill weekends?

A-7. Only the Reef is open for UTA weekends. 2 cashiers for B – L – D on Saturday and 2 cashiers for B – L on Sunday.

Q-8. What is the average headcounts for meal periods on guard weekends?

A-8. 125, but can vary with deployments.

Q-9. Are both dining facilities utilized during Guard Weekends?

A-9. No

Q-10. What is the process for getting equipment identified for repair, if the equipment is in need of more than just minor repair?

A-10. Refer to PWS para 1.9.1; The contractor shall report any malfunctioning or inoperative equipment to the Facility Manager or COR.

Q-11. Who provides the Styrofoam cups, bowls, to go trays, plastic ware, plastic forks; knives; spoons, napkins, rubber gloves, etc...?

A-11. Styrofoam cups, bowls, to go trays, plastic ware, plastic forks; knives; spoons, napkins, and Serving gloves are furnished by the government. Rubber gloves, used for cleaning are furnished by the contractor.

Q-12. If it is the contractor’s responsibility to purchase and provide these items, how is he compensated for that cost?

A-12. N/A

Q-13. Is any support required of the contractor for flight/ground meal support to include vegetable prep, salad prep, fruit prep, cleaning the work area?

A-13. Yes they do the prep and clean the area. Flight kitchen is co-located in the Riptide Dining Facility.
