QUESTIONS & ANSWERS # 5 – 16 MAY 2012

Q-1. PWS, page 5 of 38, Cashier Services. In the second to last line in 1.4.1, UTA weekend’s lunch is listed.

Q-1a. How many units use the facility each month?
A-1a. One

Q-1b. What is the increase or customer count during the lunch meal?

A-1b. Approximately 125, but can vary with deployments.

Q-1c. Is this once a month or more? (Two weekends or more a month?)

A-1c. Once per month

Q- 2. PWS, page 6 of 38, Housekeeping/Custodial Services. There is nothing stating the cleaning of kitchen equipment (i.e. ovens, stoves, grills, kettles) used by the military. Will the military be cleaning the equipment they use?

A-2. No, the Contractor is responsible cleaning all kitchen equipment.

Q- 3. PWS, page 7 of 38, Other Housekeeping Task, 1.6.1.5. Is there a height limit for the employees? Most contracts, it is 10 feet.

A-3. 10 feet.

Q-4. PWS, page 8 of 38, Grounds Maintenance, 1.8.1. Who does the grass mowing and removal of vegetation?

A-4. Mowing and removal of vegetation is accomplished under a separate Grounds Maintenance contract.

Q-5. PWS, page 9 of 38, Equipment Preventive Equipment Maintenance and Repair, 1.9.1.

Q-5a. Will major maintenance be done by the Government?

A-5a. Yes

Q-5b. Will the contractor be reimbursed for any parts used during maintenance? If so, there is not a CLIN for that.
A-5b. No, the Government will pay for parts required for major maintenance repairs. The Contractor will not be reimbursed for preventive and required minor maintenance expenses as defined in PWS, Appendix 6.
Q-5c. What has the cost for maintenance over the last year and the life of the contract?
A-5c. N/A
Q-5d. “The contractor shall submit an equipment maintenance plan with the proposal…” in what section of PART I or PART II should this plan be placed?
A-5d. The Equipment Maintenance Plan can be submitted with PART I.

Q-6. PWS, page 11 of 38, Contingency Services, 1.14.1. There is not a CLIN for Extended Meal Service Hours; will one be added to the CLIN’s?

A-6. Yes, Amendment 1 to the Solicitation will be posted by COB on 16 May. Amendment 1 will add CLINs 0004, 1004, 2004, 3004, and 4004 for Extended Meals Service Hours. These CLINs will be priced, but will not be funded until required under a contingency operation. Offerors should price these CLINs and include as part of the Price Proposal, Part 1.

Q-7. Will the Government be providing all the carry-out containers and paper supplies to include the plastic ware and napkins?

A-7. Yes

Q-8. Will the government be providing all the supplies needed in the operation of the Corporate Food Service system and Aloha system (paper and toners)?

A-8. Yes, the Government will provide these supplies.

Q-9. PWS, page 24 of 38, Appendix 2b. What is the average daily meal count for normal workweek for the Riptide?

A-9. Average daily meal count for normal workweek (weekdays only).

A-10. Yes. All required Plans should be submitted as directed in the PWS.

Q-11. What is the UTA frequency per year?

A-11. Once per month.

Q-12. Are the UTA meal times the same as the Riptide weekday meal times? If not please provide.

A-12. Only the Reef is open for UTA weekends. The meal times are as provided in Appendix 1 of the PWS.
