QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (#6)
Question 6: Contractor is required to have a current Top Secret (TS) Facility clearance issued by the Defense Security Service (DSS) office and be Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/4 eligible with a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). A valid Top Secret Facility Clearance is required to be in the DSS Database.
Is this a clearance we will need to get once we are awarded the bid or needs to be in place before placing a bid ? Also if I need to get this clearance can you guide me in the direction to get this ?
Im currently working in a federal building and a port of entry an I am wondering if they are the same one.
Government Response: Per the PWS and the Instructions to offerors, the contractor must already possess a top secret facility clearance. Unfortunately, we cannot sponsor contractors for this clearance, because top secrect information is not being handled in the pre-award stage. A clearance cannot be sponsored post award, because the application review is 90-120 days assuming there aren’t any anomalies in the application. For further questions on the clearance, please refer to http://www.dss.mil/.
