Large Frame Trainer Questions and Answers

1. Q: Is the Primary Power 3 Phase?

A: Yes

2. Q: Are there as builts of what is in area to be dug up?

A: Yes. As‐builts can be provided to the awardee. Also dig permits will be required prior to digging.

3. Q: At the control stand, the panel box that we will be installing.

Are there circuits for:

1. lighting of control booth

2. receptacles for maintenance tools

3. instructor radio chargers

4. etc?

A: 1. Control Stands have no lighting.

2. Request minimum of I receptacle with 30amp breaker.

3. Radios are charged at the main building.

4. No other items required.

4. Q: How thick is required paving?

A: 12" reinforced concrete to support Crash trucks.

5. Q: How thick is required concrete? What psi?

A: 12” reinforced concrete to support Crash trucks. 3000psi

6. Q: Existing pit is not 75' radius. Due to weir drain location we would need to enlarge pit towards entry road and towards Tire testing building. Are there any as built drawings of what is under this concrete?

A: Yes. See question 2 above.

7. Q: Does the completed area of pit that needs to have the 2" of water coverage need to be round or can the high wing side be dry since there is no flame impingement?

A: Yes the high wing dry can be dry concrete (no water coverage). Water is required to prevent spalling of concrete due to heating, the water coverage will prevent this. Any area that has the potential for flame impingement will need to be covered by water.

8. Q: What rating in psi for the concrete required to fill pit?

A: 3000psi

9. Q: How many gas detectors?

A: 2

10. Q: How many thermocouples?

A: 2

11. Q: How thick is the Cor‐Ten liner required to be?

A: 1/4 inch

12. Q: What height for doors and hatches?

A: Right back door‐ 72”L x 31”W

Left back door‐ 72”L x 31”W

Left mid hatch‐ 39”L x 20”W

Back interior door‐ 78”L x 36”W

Front interior door‐ 75”L x 32”W

13. Q: Do t‐handles, throttles and switches have to provide feedback to lights on control panel?

A: Yes.

14. Q: This is different than smoke system in existing Large Frame trainer. Do you want the new smoke machine to be identical to existing one?

A: Yes if possible.

15. Q: This is different than gas detection system in existing Large Frame trainer. Do you want the new gas detection system to be identical to existing one?

A: Yes

16. Q: The existing control console at the medium frame pit is smaller than the one at the large frame pit. Do you want the new console to match in size with the one at existing large frame pit?

17. Q: Do you want the PLC in new trainer to match the PLC in existing Large Frame Trainer?

18. Q: This is different than gas detection system in existing Large Frame trainer. Do you want the new gas detection system to be identical to existing one?

A: Yes

19. Q: How many thermocouples are required in interior of mockup? One in Cargo area @5' level and one in Pax Area @5' level?

A: Yes

20. Q: The Period of performance of 90 days for install or completion of work is very short. The last

Large Frame project was 365 days.

A: SoW will be updated to reflect a 90 day install period with a 360 day total contract period of performance.
