Burn House (wet) Trainer Evaluation Criteria
Competency
Provide proof of completion of projects of this magnitude
Training Fires Fuel Type
Bedrooms X2 – Liquid propane
Kitchen – Liquid propane
Living room‐Liquid propane
Concealed Fire Prop – Liquid propane
Safety Systems
Interior Safety
Wired dead‐man device, Safety Pendent with controls for both high low fires and flashover
Gas detection sensors throughout (minimum one per burn room)
Heat sensors in burn rooms (minimum one per burn room)
Emergency shutoff push buttons at every room exit point
Ventilation/extraction system capable of one air change per minute/continuous duty @ 500 degrees F. Operate at purge flow when turned on and during emergency shutdowns, during this time only the propane detection system will be operational. Fan failure will initiate emergency shutdown.
Centralized Computer control system
Fire Safety System
Fail safe supply valve to close automatically in the event of electrical failure
Interlocked pilot light system monitoring designed to detect and monitor pilot flame
Fire safety shutoff valve dedicated at each fire, monitored by the interlocked system
Gas pressure monitor at the propane inlet, monitored by the interlocked system
Propane detection will be a dual drawn sample detection system. Monitored by the interlocked system
