FA301619RA015, Bldg. 200 Renovation – Questions and Answers
1. Can you provide the specs for the lighting control panel which is indicating on dwg.EL101 Note 3.
R: Lighting Control Panel shall be a 4-circuit (minimum) relay panel with electronic program control based on internal astronomic clock, momentary contact inputs, and photocell inputs. Momentary contact inputs shall function as a 2-hour override of schedule. Furnish and install photocell at location to be determined in the field. Provide installation, programming, and commissioning of system based on schedule to be provided by COR.
2. On dwg. EL101 what does the circle with DS and PC represent?
R: “DS” is actually an “OS”. “OS” is an occupancy sensor to sense occupancy in the room. “PC” is a photocell to sense light levels in the room. Refer to Specifications Section 26 and all other sources for performance specifications. Devices shall meet performance specifications and energy conservation codes.
3. Drawing M1602 refers to integrating into the existing Johnson Controls System (see screen shot of note from drawing).
· Is there an existing panel/controller in the building now?
R: Yes, refer to Sheet MD101 Keyed Note#17.
· If there isn’t an existing panel, is there a specific Johnson Controls System (Model) that we are to provide?
R: There is an existing panel. Refer to Sheet MD101 Note#17.
· What is the specific system that we are tying into? Model? Description?
R: Johnson Controls MS-NAE 3510-2. Refer to Sheet MD101 Note#17. Contractor shall field verify.
4. Sheet A-102, Detail 1, Note 6 - Will RAFB provide a sample of the required crown molding profile to the awarded GC?
R: No, RAFB will not provide a sample. Crown Moulding shall meet requirements of Note 6 on Sheet A-102. Additional coordination shall be executed with JBSA RNB during construction as a material submittal.
5. Sheet A-501
· KN 25 - What thickness or R-value ceiling insulation is required along the top of the interior walls?
R: Insulation R-Values shall be calculated per Specifications Section 01 01 00.00 44 paragraph 1.2.5.2 c. Minimum ceiling insulation shall be R-30.
· KN 9 – What size fire extinguisher shall be placed in the fire cabinets?
R: No, Fire Extinguisher shall not be required. Fire Cabinet space shall be closed in with gypboard.
6. Sheet F-101 / KN 3
· Are flow test results available for this building?
R: No, flow tests results are not provided.
· Were hydraulic calculations prepared for the existing new system?
R: No, hydraulic calculations are not prepared for the existing/new system. Refer toSpecifications Section 21 13 13.00 10 Pages 1,2&3 for instructions. Instructions are not limited to noted pages.
7. Sheet F-101 / KN 13 – Was the existing new system pressure tested prior to acceptance by the government and can a copy of that test be released to the bidders?
R: Yes the existing new system was tested prior to acceptance by JBSA RND. A copy of the test will not be provided to contractor. KEYED NOTE/KN13 States “Contractor shall perform hydrostatic tests of the entire piping System (New and Existing)…..” as part of the contract.
8. S-101 / 1 – Is the existing roof under warranty? If yes, who is providing that warranty?
R: Yes the existing roof is under warranty. Roofing Warranty information shall be provided by JBSA RND during construction. Contact JBSA RND CONS Contract Specialist and PM of Record for warranty information.
9. S-101 Welding notes: Please confirm that AWS certification is required for the RTU under-roof support bracing.
R: Yes, welding certifications are required per respective and noted codes and as noted in specifications.
10. MH101 / KN 20: Please confirm that Rooms 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, and 109 do not have the flex duct for the SA diffusers already installed.
R: The noted rooms above “have” existing flex duct installed.
11. Sheet E-601 – Where is existing Panel ‘DP-A’ located?
R: Basement 001. Additional panels are located in the mechanical room in the basement. Panels are not limited to the basement location. Field Verify. Electrical Panel Schedule indication of DP-A location is incorrect as E-001. The correct room name & number is Basement 001.
12. Within the SOW Appendix B:
a. Numerous references are made to 502 Contracting Squadron MATOC contract (e.g. page 3 - 1.2.4 or page 4). Is that relevant for this solicitation?
R: NO
b. Section 01 45 00.10 20 / 1.3 / D – Please confirm the dedicated CQC SM must be on-site in a full-time capacity.
R: NO
c. Can the Superintendent dual-hat as the SSHO?
R: YES
d. Section 01 57 24.00 44 – Is a SWP3 required for this project?
R: NO, all work is interior with exception of the roof penetration.
e. Section 01 74 19 00 / D8 – Please confirm this is not a LEED project.
R: It is NOT a LEED project.
13. General Notes:
