STATEMENT OF WORK

INSTALLATION MISTING FANS AT THE FIRING RANGES

JBSA-Lackland AFB, TX

1 DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The contractor shall provide all labor and materials required to install 32 misting fans furnished under this contract.

Project Location(s): Bldgs 940, 941, 947, 948, 953, 956, and 957

900 Patrol Rd.
JBSA-Lackland Medina Annex, TX 78236

2. PRINCIPAL FEATURES

Buildings will not be in use during hours in which installation of the misting fans will occur. The contractor shall coordinate all work with 37 TRSS/Range Control at (210) 671-2349.

Description of Work: Misters will reduce student heat casualties caused by extreme heat during the summer months for students not acclimated to the heat. Installation should be completed 45 days after award and will consist of providing services as described below:

A. Bldg 940 There will be three fans/misters (nozzles), evenly spaced on each side of the control tower for a total of six.

Bldg 941 There will be two fans/misters (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of four.

Bldg 947 There will be two fans/misters (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of four.

Bldg 948 There will be two fans/misters (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of four.

Bldg 953 There will be one fan/mister (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of two.

Bldg 956 There will be three fans/misters (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of six.

Bldg 957 There will be three fans/misters (nozzles) on each side of the control tower for a total of six.

A 250 gallon reservoir and a rust resistant metal stand constructed to support the reservoir is required for this proposed project to provide a water source for each of the aforementioned building’s misting system. Trenching from the reservoirs to the building for the installation of water lines to the misting systems may be required.

The nozzles will be installed on overhead beams to sufficiently cool the area.

B. Specifications of misting fans will be as follows:

· 30" oscillating circulation fans with OSHA guards ½ horsepower, and 2-speed motor designed for industrial use with the control for the system located at the control tower of each facility.

· Maintenance-free, totally enclosed, thermally protected motor with pre-lubricated ball bearings.

· Durable powder coated zinc over steel fan guard meets OSHA requirements.

· Two-speed pull chain switch.

· Stainless steel wall mount bracket for 30” oscillating fans.

C. Specifications for the misting pump used to push water through the system will be in accordance with model number SKU: MC1904 or equivalent.

D. Contractor shall not work or store materials in a manner that would hinder or otherwise block pedestrian circulation to exit corridors and exit doors in the event of an emergency or fire. If required, items can be stored temporarily in rooms within the respective facility; storage of materials shall be coordinated with Range Control, (210) 671-2349.

3. CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

No changes in or deviation from the scope of service shall be effected without a modification executed by the Contracting Officer authorizing such changes.

4. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE

TSgt Guadalupe Almanza (210) 671-4303 and/or Mr. Dave Cordero (210) 671-3978 will conduct the final inspection with Contracting and the contractor to determine whether the project can be accepted or corrections required prior to acceptance.
