At the end of this course students will be able to TMS and VCS. Students will understand advanced features of VCS and will be able to provision H.323, SIP and TIP on the VCS and CUCM Call Manager.
2. Justification for soliciting a Brand Name:
Existing equipment that is currently providing Video TelePresence services is Cisco Branded. Cisco is the only vendor that provides certified training for Cisco equipment. This is common among industry leaders in the field of Video TelePresence. 106th Signal Brigade has invested greatly in existing Video TelePresence infrastructure, and certified training is required to provide Video TelePresence technicians the tools required to provide this service within the 106th Signal Brigade Area of Responsibility (AoR).
3. Efforts to Obtain Competition:
The 106th engineering staff did comprehensive research to find the most appropriate Video TelePresence Training available. The initial requirement was competed and it was determined that Cisco is the only vendor that provides certified training for Cisco equipment which already exists within the 106th Signal Brigade AoR. There are no others that offer certified Cisco training for the existing equipment. However, other third party vendors could teach this Cisco certified training.
4. Steps to Preclude Future Brand Name Awards:
h )1061
Signal Brigade engineering staff continuously conducts market research aimed toward modernizing our equipment systems for the best and most cost effective service provided to our customers. At such time as it is required to Life Cycle all Video TelePrsence infrastructure, we will compete aging equipment replacements.
5. Contracting Officer's Determination:
I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b), that the circumstances of this contract action requires a specific brand-name peculiar to one manufacturer. Although a specific brand name is required, there are Cisco certified vendors capable of providing this specific training.
