Questions and Answers

8 March 2022

Question 1: The solicitation documents seem to infer that the proposed route for installation is not necessarily mandatory; Does the fiber have to be installed in the proposed route?

Answer 1: The proposed route is the best expected path based on known infrastructure. Proposals should be submitted based on the proposed path as identified in the solicitation documents.

Any deviations to the proposed routing shall be handled after contract award if it is discovered that differing site conditions exist. Any identified boring, ducting, and max-cell installation included in the solicitation documents MUST be accomplished/provided as part of the resultant contract regardless of any fiber installation route deviations.

Question 2: Is there a recommended manufacturer or part number for the Fiber Optic Distribution

Panels (FODP) required by the solicitation documents?

Answer 2: No specific requirement exists for the FODP’s as long as they are 36 port, new (not refurbished), can be mounted in the existing racks, and meet all necessary/applicable specifications as included in the solicitation documents.
