Multi-Channel RF Over Fiber Systems
Q&A 17 June 2022
1) The SFDR does not state across what frequency range it is stated for or at what specific frequency point the required parameter is located at. It also does not state whether the parameter is required to be an actual measurement or a calculated estimate.
Section 1, a, a:
Supports RF signals from 0.1 GHz to 20 GHz This is the required frequency range. As such all expectations for performance are across this entire frequency range. The spec can be calculated or measured. Note: We will measure.
2) The maximum RF input of at least 20 dB seems like a typo. Is this supposed to be in terms of dBm?
And is this a damage point or an operational point Section 1, a, f: Supports Maximum RF input of at least 20 dBm CORRECTED as 20 dBm
3) Gain flatness of ± 2.5 dB is stated. Is this across the entire band or what across what bandwidth?
Section 1, a, i: Provides Gain flatness of ± 2.5 dB Supports RF signals from 0.1 GHz to 20 GHz and provide gain flatness of ± 2.5 dB across the required frequency range. As such all expectations for performance are across this entire frequency range.
4) No gain slope parameter is mentioned. Is this a factor at all?
The previous requirement UNITY GAIN as well as GIAN FLATNESS spec fully describes the gain characteristic requirements of the system. Section 1a, items "C" and section 1A, item "I" must be met!
Section 1, a, c. adjusted to provide unity gain (S21:0 dB) And Provides Gain flatness of ± 2.5 dB
5) Supports a P1dB Compression point of at least + 17dBm. Is this correct?
This seems very high.
Section 1, a, j: Supports a P1dB Compression point of at least + 17dBm This specification is correct.
