920 RQW Deployment Gear
Q&A
25 Mar 21
Question: I saw the BPA solicitation for the 920th and had a quick question. We're partnered with the local National Industries for the Blind Base Supply Center, LC Industries, and I was curious if there was a reason these items aren't being purchased through that location. Does it have to do with the dollar threshold this buy involves?
Answer: In IAW FAR 8.002, as it pertains to the required sources of supply, all items will be purchased through the AbilityOne (LCI) store to the extent possible. Even though, LCI is not a mandatory source for all BPA items. They will be called first to supply the required items. However, if the quantities, qualities, or delivery timelines for the items requested cannot be provided, the ordering Unit Deployment Managers (UDM) will use the additional vendors selected by this BPA to provide their pricing through the General Services Administration (GSA) Supply Catalog.
