QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q1. Question: Will there be a designated storage area for materials and equipment, what are the dimensions?

45 CES Response: Refer to Specification section 01 11 00.00 30 paragraph 1.8 for procedures to request a storage/laydown area.

Q2. Question: Can all salvageable materials be identified?

45 CES Response: The 45 CES Electrical Shop has identified approximately 9 light poles in the area surrounding Buildings 820 and 821 that are to be salvaged. An amendment to the drawings will be issued to reflect this.

Q3. Question: What kind of splices/wirenuts will be required when re-connecting wires coming from the pole to the pullbox?

45 CES Response: Refer to Specification section 26 05 00.00 40 paragraph 3.2.1.8 for splice type(s).

Q4. Question: What allowance can we use for burnt wire and bad conduit if replacement is needed?

45 CES Response: Provide new wire and conduit from the handhole to the light fixture, as shown on sheet DT-601. Where there are damaged handholes, as indicated in the drawings, the replacement should include a minimum 4 ft allowance for new conduit installation to repair damage to existing.

Q5. Question: What is the voltage in each zone?

45 CES Response: The voltage varies; the existing fixtures accept multiple voltages within a range. 120-277V and 347-480V are the ranges of the existing fixtures. The color of the photocell on top of the fixture indicates the voltage range.

Q6. Question: Wire size required if replacement is needed?

45 CES Response: Refer to sheet DT-601, TYPICAL CONCRETE LIGHT POLE DETAIL, for minimum wire size required

Q7. Question: Are there grounding rods at each pole at this time, or should cost be considered in bid?

45 CES Response: Refer to sheet DT-601, a new ground rod is required for each pole.

Q 8. Question: Is there a specified color for the light pole replacement?

45 CES Response: The Gov’t intends to perform color selection during the submittal stage.

Q9. Question: Could the current timeframe be adjusted to 180 days? Considering material delivery date for material is 60 days due to the pandemic?

45 CES Response: Period of performance can be adjusted to 180 days after issuance of NTP
