Robotic Grit Blast Booth System Site Visit held 16 Apr 2018
1. Question: What are the interior dimensions of the oven?
Answer: 15ft x 60ft x 12ft.
2. Question: How far to move the oven?
Answer: Update the Layout for oven to be moved.
3. Question: Will the oven be reconnected?
Answer: No, should be left disconnected.
4. Question: What is the location of the dust collector?
Answer: Called out in Purchase Description.
5. Question: Who moves all the aircraft equipment if in the way?
Answer: Called out in the Purchase Description.
6. Question: What about adding Functional Test?
Answer: Functional test needed if utilities of other equipment is affected.
7. Question: Who will dispose of excess concrete?
Answer: Contractor and will be called out in Purchase Description.
8. Question: How far will the booth come out?
Answer: Will be shown in Purchase Description layout, allowable areas will be called out.
9. Question: What is the blast (Cycle) time?
Answer: Will be added to the Purchase Description.
10. Question: Where is the Rotary Valve?
Answer: In Purchase Description B(iv) will be reworded for clarity.
11. Question: Is there any media recycling?
Answer: No.
12. Question: Should there be a level probe?
Answer: Yes, overfill.
13. Question: Will there be a shelter over the dust collector?
Answer: Yes.
14. Question: Is there a filter?
Answer: The exhaust air will be filtered, but not returned to the building.
15. Question: Should there be an air return into the building?
Answer: No.
16. Question: How many parts are different?
Answer: Several different parts.
17. Question: How long should the system blast? Is there an estimate of time?
Answer: At one point, start to finish. No certain amount of time.
Government will provide estimate to Purchase Description.
18. Question: Will there be any air going out though the dust collector? Also, will it be conditioned air?
Answer: Both will be added to Purchase Description.
19. Question: What is the weight of the parts?
Answer: Need to add the total weight including the cart to the Purchase
Description.
20. Question: Should there be an automatic rollup door? If so, should there be a track system for the door?
Answer: Yes, that way it will not take up too much room. No.
21. Question: How does the robot know where the parts are located?
Answer: See section D(vi) of Purchase Description.
22. Question: How does the Robot know how much Grit Blast to perform?
Answer: Close to bare metal (To rough up for proper preparation).
Operator intervention.
23. Question: Will there be a window in the control room?
Answer: Will add to the layout.
24. Question: Where to place the window in the control room?
Answer: There will be a window in the control room, but it will not look directly into the booth.
25. Question: What is the variation of the location of parts?
Answer: Within a foot.
