Questions and Answers pertaining to the Heat Trace and Insulation project.

Solicitation# F2D0AA1231A003.

1. The pipe insulation comes in 3 foot sections; some of the footage requested does not equal that. ( i.e. 2" IPS x 1 1/2" insulation 220 ft ) 220 div 3 ft = 73.3 sections can we round up to the closes 3 ft section.? Or do you want whole cases? There is 60 ft in a case of 2" x 1 1/2" insulation? Please advise...

Rounding up to the nearest 3 foot section is fine.

2. We have the same question on the Heat Cable can we round up to the next whole box?

According to our market research, heat cable comes in lengths up to at least 1000 feet; we need as much continuous length as possible.

3. What is items 6", 8" 10" and 12" x 1 1/2" VX insulation 379-1200-P-150 VX ?

These are straight pieces of 1 1/2" thick insulation. The part number 379-1200-P-150 only refers to the 12" pieces, part number 379-0800-P-150 VX refers to 8” pieces and so forth.

4. Are the elbows long radius or short radius?

All elbows are short radius; part numbers should reflect as well.

5. How are the boxes to be labeled?

For insulation, separate by size and type. Wire should be in 1000' increments, anything less should be labeled as such. Splices for wire should be separate from other requested items.

6. Can we fax or email our quote to you?

Email would be preferred but our fax number is 801-777-5246.

7. Our current CCR has expired. Do we have to be a current CCR member at the time of the proposal or only if we are awarded the PO.

I would recommend that you update your CCR profile to be current as soon as possible if you are interested in this project, as this is a requirement to do business with the government.

8. Do we need any special clearance to access the base to deliver the material?

To access the base you will need to stop at the visitor’s center to get a “temporary access badge.” Requirements for badge: you must have a valid driver’s liscence and your vehicle must have current registration, insurance and the emissions certificate.

9. Is there a walk through scheduled for this project?

No walk through is scheduled as this requirement is for materials only.

10. Is this project just providing the material or does it include installation as well?

This project is for materials only.
