A: No, the acft sensors are optical and it is for target recognition
3. Is the contractor required to provide the 'bolt on targets' as well as the drones ground vehicle(s)?
A: No...just the drones.
4. Does CAFB have an existing ground control station and if so what are the specifications?
A: Yes. Specifics will be coming shortly.
5. What is the maximum and nominal speeds the drone will be operated at during testing.
A: 0-15 mph
6. Do you require contractor support during the testing?
A: If the systems differ from the current form factor the answer is yes.
7. What is the period of performance or critical delivery date.
A: 6 months from award for the total amount of drones
8. Does the testing include the destruction of the target drone?
A: No.
9. If not a destructive test would a 'leased ground drone' be a viable solution?
A; If it replicates the actual drone exactly then it would work.
10. The maximum command and control range is listed as 4500 m. Is that line of site or terrain confounded?
A; Line of site.
11. Do you have any technical details or pictures for these drone: Size, weight, propoulsion type, bolt-on target sizes and weight, air or land drone, wheels or tracks?
We have pics of our current version. The propulsion is two electric motors.
The drones weigh approximately 200 lbs and stand no higher than 36" and are about that wide as well. Bolt-on targets will bolt to a flat multi-purpose surface and will be actual bicycles, 3D human form shooting targets, and small skeletonized motorcycles (most internal parts removed like the engine and transmission).
