4. Additive Pricing: Provide a cost for the electrical hookups and grounding activities required to render the building usable on the day of delivery.

Hazardous Materials Building Criteria:

Building Criteria:

1. This building will be used for the mixed storage of small quantities of hazardous materials and combustible materials with occasional pallet or drum storage. The building placement will be adjacent to an existing preengineered metal building. The slab shall be in place prior to delivery.

2. The building dimensions shall be 9’x9’ (81sf – 16 drum) with standard ceiling height. Acceptable dimensions from a pre-existing floorplan with a deviation of +/- 10% will be acceptable. Multiple modular buildings will be considered in lieu of one single building.

a. Provide adequate lifting lugs so that the building will not be damaged or scratched in offloading.

b. Provide a quart container of matching building paint for the offloading personnel to do any required finish touch-ups to the paint prior to acceptance.

3. Design Criteria: The building manufacturer shall provide documentation demonstrating the building’s capability to withstand hurricane wind zones and overall code compliance for this part of Puerto Rico. (90mph wind loads, Seismic Condition Zone 3.)

4. Materials and Finishes:

a. The building material shall be a minimum of 12 gauge steel, galvannealed or primed and painted white, with a 4-hour fire rating. The primer shall be specified for use in a saltwater environment.

b. The building floor shall have steel floor planking. Provide information on the floor type, coating, and load rating as part of the RFQ submittal documents.

c. Finishes: Exterior and interior finishes shall be chemical resistant, corrosion resistant, and ultraviolet radiation resistant.

5. Building Components:

a. Integral Sump: Building has all have a integral sump that is continuously welded to be leakproof. Sump shall be sized to contain a minimum of 55 gallons. Sump cleanout access shall be clearly noted. Specifically note the sump capacity in the RFQ submittal documents.

b. Electrical:

i. Building shall have a code-compliant grounding connection on the outside of the building.

ii. Provide integrated load system to operate interior lights and mechanical ventilation system.

iii. Building shall have a mechanical air venting system. All intakes and exhaust points shall be flashed to prevent water intrusion and shall have insect screens. Provide thermostat and/or timer for programmable activation.

iv. Building shall have a minimum of (2) 4-foot T-5 electrical shop-type fixtures. All fixtures shall be pre-wired to the load center and operated by a switch located inside the doorway. All lights should have lense covers and be rated for this type of building.

c. Doorways & Ramps: Provide a minimum of (1) door to access the building and a removable aluminum, skid-resistant ramp for hand-truck access. Door shall be integral to the building and manufactured with a weathertight seal and locking handle mechanism.
