About this file

This is an informational presentation document describing the TSMO (Threat Simulation and Military Operations) Threat Operations Electronic Warfare In-Depth program, a U.S. Army training capability managed by the Capability Program Executive (CPE).

The TSMO Threat Operations program provides comprehensive threat simulation and electronic warfare training capabilities designed to advance today's military training while preparing forces for tomorrow's threats. The program encompasses three primary functional categories: Maneuver and Network, Electronic Attack, and SIGINT/Direction Finding, plus Integrated Air Defense Systems. Key systems include the Threat Battle Command Force (TBCF), which serves as the integrated command and control suite providing situational awareness visualization and common operating picture across multiple locations; electronic attack assets such as the Enhanced Controlled Signal Transmitter (E-CST), Cyber and Electronic Warfare Jammer Asset (CEWJA), Cicada-C, Wideband Configurable Controlled Jammer (WCCJ), TRC-274, Threat High Output Range Extender (THORE), and Mission Adaptable Multi-Band Asset for GNSS (MAMBA-G); signal intelligence and direction finding systems including Advanced Networked Electronic Support Threat Sensors (AdvNESTS), Networked Electronic Support Threat Sensors (NESTS), and Electronic Warfare Open-air Collector (EWOC); and integrated air defense systems such as Giraffe variants (G-AMB, G1X, G75), Anti-Aircraft Artillery Simulator (AAA2), Radio Frequency Surface-to-Air Missile (RF SAM), and Radar Signal Emulator (RSE). The TBCF is built on the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) framework, integrating with RF propagation modeling tools (Spectrum-E and GIANT), data collection and analysis capabilities, and provides real-time operational picture visualization through the Adaptable Range Exercise System (ARES) and TSMO Replay Exercise Viewer (T-ReX) for historical data collection and replay analysis.
