About this file

After carefully reviewing the documents, I realize these are technical specification sheets for various Wavetronix SmartSensor products, including the SmartSensor Matrix, SmartSensor Advance, Arc6, SmartSensor Mount, Sensor Cable Junction Box, and SmartSensor 6-conductor Cable. These are not contract or bid documents, but rather detailed product specification sheets describing the technical capabilities, physical characteristics, and installation requirements for traffic sensor equipment.

The documents provide comprehensive technical details for each product, including physical dimensions, operating conditions, communication protocols, mounting specifications, and performance characteristics. Key features include radar-based vehicle detection technology, compatibility with traffic control systems, robust environmental performance (-29°F to 165°F), and various communication interfaces. The products are designed for use in traffic management systems, specifically for detecting vehicles at signalized intersections, with features like dynamic ETA tracking, multiple detection zones, and surge protection. Each product comes with a warranty (typically two to five years) and includes options for accessories and mounting equipment.

SmartSensor Matrix technical specifications

* While the system works with supply voltages of up to 28 VDC, 24 VDC supplies are recommended; the excess is designed to allow some tolerance on the out-put of the supply. To support 12 VDC battery systems, and if the cable is short enough, the sensor can accept a power supply as low as 10 VDC; however, this is dependent on cable length and wire gauge. Please consult Knowledge Base Article 0309, SmartSensor Matrix Cable Length Recommendations, for details.

Sensor Cable Junction Box

Junction box for splicing cables The sensor cable junction box provides connection between the sensor’s pigtail cable and the homerun cable to the cabinet. This box’s nine terminal blocks eliminate the need to pull a connectorized cable from the sensor to the cabinet. Its small size allows for an in-line connection that will fit in a hand hole.

NEMA type 4, 4x enclosure, providing a degree of protection against falling dirt, windblown dust, water, and ice

Insulation displacement terminal blocks for quick wiring

Small form factor for placement in traIc pole hand hole

Cable grips for water resistance

Same-side cable entry prevents cable path water trails from pooling on cable grip

Nine terminal blocks means that the box can be used with cables with nine or fewer conductors and drains, namely the Wavetronix

SmartSensor 6-conductor cable and the 8-conductor cable

Wavetronix sensor standard limited warranty

All SmartSensor Products manufactured and sold by

Wavetronix LLC (“Wavetronix”) and paid for in full by the

Purchaser through Wavetronix-sponsored channels are backed by the following limited warranty:

1. For the benefit of the original Purchaser only, Wavetronix warrants that all new SmartSensor products manufactured by Wavetronix shall for a period of two (2) years from the date the Product is shipped to Purchaser (the “Warranty

Period”) (a) be free from defects in the materials and work-manship and (b) conform to and function in accordance with Wavetronix’ written specifications under normal use, subject to the conditions and exceptions set forth below.

If any Wavetronix SmartSensor Product fails to conform to this Standard Limited Warranty, as further explained below, Wavetronix shall, in its sole discretion, and as Purchaser’s sole remedy for any breach of this limited warranty, either repair or replace such substandard Product free of charge, except as noted below.

2. Purchaser shall promptly notify Wavetronix, or the authorized Wavetronix representative, in writing of the

Product’s defect or failure no later than the last day of the

Warranty Period. Upon delivery of such notice, Purchaser shall obtain a return authorization from Wavetronix, and

Purchaser shall then ship the Product to Wavetronix at the address indicated on the return authorization. The Pur-chaser is responsible for all costs of shipping Product(s) back to Wavetronix. Wavetronix shall be responsible for all costs of shipping Product(s) back to the Purchaser.

Product(s) will be shipped to the Purchaser using the same method (ground, next day air, etc.) that was used by the

Purchaser in shipping the Product(s) to Wavetronix.

3. For any returned Product which, upon Wavetronix’ evalu-ation, reveals significant (i.e., neither trivial nor superficial) defects or failure that were not caused by any accident, misuse, neglect, alteration, improper installation, repair or testing by Purchaser or any third party or by any act of

God, and which occurred under normal use and service by the Purchaser, within two (2) years following shipment, the

Product will be repaired or replaced free of charge, except for any non-warranty items such as cabling, connectors, mounts or interfaces that are normally repaired or replaced during standard scheduled maintenance, which items shall be subject to a prorated charge based upon Wavetronix’ estimate of the percentage of normal service life realized from such replaced part. Wavetronix may ojer for sale refurbished sensors. A refur-bished sensor is one that is brought to a near-new condition.

When refurbished, the sensor enclosure will be replaced and may receive a new backplate, connector, and any hardware that shows excessive wear. Each refurbished sensor is fully tested and clearly marked as refurbished. Only sensors that are less than two (2) years old may be considered for the refurbishing process. Each refurbished unit includes a 90-day warranty. The terms of this warranty are listed in the Wavetro-nix Sensor Standard Limited Warranty document, with the exception that a refurbished sensor carries a 90-day war-ranty instead of two (2) years.

The advertised detection accuracy of the company’s sensors is based on both external and internal testing, as outlined in each product’s specification document.

Although our sensors are very accurate by industry standards, like all other sensor manufacturers we cannot guarantee perfection or assure that no errors will ever occur in any particular applications of our technology. Therefore, beyond the express Limited Warranty that accompanies each sensor sold by the company, we of-fer no additional representations, warranties, guarantees or remedies to our customers. It is recommended that purchasers and integrators evaluate the accuracy of each sensor to determine the acceptable margin of error for each application within their particular system(s).

SmartSensor Advance

SmartSensor Advance Bid Specification 1.0 General. This item shall govern the purchase of aboveground continuous tracking advance detector (CTAD) equivalent to the Wavetronix SmartSensor™ Advance.

A CTAD detects vehicles by transmitting electromagnetic radar signals through the air. The signals bounce off vehicles in their paths and part of the signal is returned to the CTAD.

The returned signals are then processed to determine traffic parameters. CTADs are not affected by normal weather and environ-mental conditions such as rain, wind, snow, dust, etc. They also do not require cleaning and can maintain performance over a wide range of ambient temperatures.

CTADs provide a non-intrusive means of detecting traffic because they can be installed at the side of a roadway. This property not only makes them safer to install but also more cost-effective than sensors that require roadway modifications or placement.

2.0 Measured Quantities and Outputs. The CTAD shall detect range and speed to the stop bar for vehicles or clusters of ve-hicles moving in the…
