About this file
This is a Work Write-Up for Electrical Upgrades prepared by the City of Jackson for a residential property located at 930 Backus St. in Burton, Michigan, dated February 26, 2025. The project involves comprehensive electrical system improvements to bring the structure into compliance with the Michigan Residential Code (MRC) 2015, including installation of a new 100-amp meter base, hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, kitchen and bathroom electrical circuit upgrades, and correction of existing electrical violations and hazardous conditions.
The scope of work requires the electrical contractor to perform all necessary repairs and installations, including wall and ceiling repairs from wire routing, with the contractor responsible for daily cleanup and ensuring all new outlets are wired appropriately. No specific pricing details are provided in the document, though the work is part of a rehabilitation project. The electrical upgrades must meet specific code requirements, such as GFCI protection, proper receptacle spacing, and hardwired detector installations. The project appears to be funded through a local government housing improvement program, with the property owner's involvement and consent documented on the work write-up.
