Foot Note Items:

- All whitebark pine (WBP) shall be left in place. Other species <21” within 50 feet of bole of WBP will be removed. Dead trees (snags) will remain unless deemed a hazard to other falling operations. (See attached document with species descriptions and photos) Leave any orange banded trees.

-Any overstory trees with Mistletoe will be thinned around removing all same species within 2 drip lines of the infected tree.

-Wildlife patches have been computed into unit layout, and no additional wildlife patches will be required within unit boundaries 4-Thinning- A quality of 90% or higher is acceptable for full payment.

- Plastic products (polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride) and/or Kraft paper shall be used, size of plastic must cover 2/3 of pile, and placed in the upper 1/3 of the pile to maintain a dry core of kindling sized material, and a portion of plastic must be visible.

- Piles shall not be placed on large or tall stumps, down logs greater than 12” small-end diameter, or large rocks.

- No hand piling will occur within 25 ft of floodplain in all RHCAs.

- Minimum pile size is 5 feet high and 6 feet wide, and 6 feet long with plastic in upper 1/3 of pile.

- Piling of thinning activity slash only to 8 to 10 tons/acre in fuel size class of 9 inches or less.

- Hand Piling—A quality level of 90 percent or higher based on residual fuel loading and pile characteristics is acceptable for full payment.

- Piles shall not be placed within 20 ft of large (equal to or greater than 12 inch) snags

- From May 1st to June 30th crews will watch for lone elk, deer or antelope. Most of these animals readily move and avoid areas of human activity. However, if newborn fawns (antelope, mule deer) or elk calves are observed, the area should be avoided, allowing the mothers to move the young away from the project.

- Contractor shall report any new raptor nests within the unit or at the edge of the unit to the COR inspector

- All trees other than whitebark pine less than 10 inches dbh in road right-of-way will be cut.
