About this file

The document is a Request for Information (RFI) 2024.12 issued by the Florida Department of Legal Affairs, Office of the Attorney General, seeking information about auction services for items confiscated through judicial seizure. The RFI aims to gather details from potential service providers about their capabilities in auction services, appraisal services, storage, transportation, and delivery of confiscated items. Responses are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on May 1, 2025, and must be submitted electronically to Savannah Dunn at the provided email address. The RFI is not a procurement that will result in a contract, but rather a method to research potential service providers and develop future solicitation specifications.

The RFI requests comprehensive information from respondents, including their operational areas in Florida, business experience, auctioneering methods, appraisal services, licensing, insurance, storage and security practices, item advertising and sales processes, pricing structures, and overall service capabilities. Respondents are asked to provide detailed narratives addressing 15 specific questions about their services, with a maximum response length of 30 single-sided pages. The Office of the Attorney General currently does not have a contract for these services and is exploring potential procurement based on the responses received. Respondents are responsible for their own costs associated with preparing the response, and the agency reserves the right to request additional information or clarification from vendors.

SECTION 1. INTRODUCTION

Pursuant to Rule 60A-1.042 Florida Administrative Code, an agency may request information from the business community by issuing a written Request for Information (RFI). Agencies may use RFI’s in circumstances including, but not limited to, determining whether to competitively procure a commodity or contractual service, determining what solicitation process to use for a particular need, or researching general, special, and technical specifications for a solicitation. A Respondent’s answer to a RFI is not an offer and will not be used to justify a contract with that respondent without the agency complying with Chapter 287, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 60A-1, Florida Administrative Code. Respondents submitting answers to an agency’s RFI are not prohibited from responding to any related subsequent solicitation issued by that agency.

The Agency reserves the right to use or reject any information supplied in response to this RFI.

However, information received from this RFI may be used to develop future specifications. Respondents are encouraged to respond with solutions that meet all or part of the specified requirements. Interested parties may offer one or more solutions to the issue(s) presented. The Office of Attorney General (OAG) does not currently have a contract in place for these services and may be interested in procuring one in the future, based on the responses to this RFI. Any information solicited and acquired from this RFI may be used to develop a future competitive solicitation.
