QUESTION AND ANSWER # 1

Question: I am a distributor of the Federal Signal product, but I am not a dealer for the other items on this request. Is it ok to just send in the quote with these items only? I normally do not split up quote requests.

Answer: his solicitation, per the RFQ, will be a single award for all items. Vendors must be able to quote all required products to be considered for award. This is an all or nothing requirement, however, we appreciate your interest.

Question: I was looking at the requirements for the bid and I noticed that is has the brand names listed of the different lights and sirens but it also says under each item minimum specs to be equal. Does that mean that I can give pricing for an alternate item or does the pricing have to be for the item and model number listed?

Answer: The requirement is for brand name or equal to each product. But you would have to match the minimum specifications for each product. So for example if the specs stated the size, weight, and way it attaches, then those would have to be equal for the alternative part. That includes loudness for sirens and brightness for lights. Another example would be if the warranty states it shall have at least a 5 year warranty and be TAA compliant. Then it would have to have at least a 5 year warranty and be TAA compliant. Basically read every specification and make sure your product matches each one. If you quote a product that is determined to not be equal you will not be considered for award. Additionally you have to quote a product for each product listed. You can’t leave any blank.

If you quote other than brand name please include the product and part number for each. You can copy the template and put the product number and part number after the price.
