SHIPROCK SITE VISIT
DE-SOL-0008089
06/12/2015
The site visit was conducted on June 12th, 2015 at the Shiprock Substation. Introductions were made, attendance was taken and site visit rules were explained to the contractors. The rules were that there were to be no side-bar conversations. Questions were to be asked so that everyone could hear and the response to those questions would be given to the group. The Project Manager went over the basics of the project.
No questions were asked at the site visit, but the following questions were sent in via email from industry:
1) Section D, items 4 & 5 of the Contract Requirements list Outage Restrictions & Scheduling
Restrictions but I cannot locate any calendar restrictions. Can you please clarify of there are any calendar restrictions with this project which would control any start dates?
There are no restrictions to when work can begin beyond the publicized federal holidays and typical notice to proceed documentation.
2) Bid item #3 Demolition, items b1 & 2 are also referenced in bid item #13 a2 & 3. I interpret this as bid item #3 refers to only the structures and bid item #13 refers to the equipment, is this a correct interpretation? Or should this work be consolidated into 1 bid item, and if so which bid item should contain these items?
This is a correct interpretation.
3) In the past we have provided WAPA an onsite office and furnishings. I do not see any requirements on this project and assume that WAPA will use one of the onsite structures. Can you please clarify if we are to provide any facilities for use solely by WAPA personnel?
No facilities will need to be provided for sole use by WAPA personnel. This substation has an existing building adequate for WAPA’s needs.
