About this file
This is a bid solicitation document from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) for the purchase and delivery of channel catfish for stocking purposes. DEEP seeks 8,800 channel catfish measuring 14-18 inches for distribution across 17 Connecticut lakes and ponds. Fish specifications require an average size of 16 inches and 1.25 pounds per fish, with no individual fish measuring less than 13 inches. Only pure channel catfish are acceptable for this contract; blue catfish and hybrid species are explicitly prohibited. Up to 30 percent of the total quantity may consist of albino channel catfish. The solicitation document establishes the technical requirements and procurement parameters for potential bidders responding to this annual stocking initiative.
The document provides the procurement structure and delivery expectations for this fish stocking contract. Bidders must ensure compliance with the specified fish size and species requirements, with particular attention to the prohibition against substitute species or hybrids. The 8,800-fish requirement represents the total annual stocking need across the identified Connecticut water bodies. Pricing terms, payment schedules, delivery logistics, and specific performance timelines are addressed through the formal bid submission process, with vendors required to demonstrate capability in procuring, handling, and delivering live fish that meet all stated specifications.
