About this file

This is an amendment summary document that outlines modifications to DARPA solicitation DARPA-PA-25-07-02 for the Compositional Learning-And-Reasoning for AI Complex Systems Engineering (CLARA) program. Amendment 1 clarifies the distinction between Bayesian Logic Programs used for automated reasoning versus those used for machine learning on page 15, and updates eligibility requirements with specific instructions for Federal Funding Development Centers (FFRDC), University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC), and Government Entity proposers on page 16.

The amendment extends three critical dates: the proposal due date to April 17, 2026, the target award date to June 16, 2026, and the anticipated program start date to June 22, 2026. The underlying solicitation seeks innovative basic or applied research concepts in high assurance artificial intelligence systems, with awards structured as Other Transactions (OT) for Prototype projects under DARPA's Defense Sciences Office. The total combined award value for Phase 1 (Feasibility Study) base and Phase 2 (Proof of Concept) option is capped at $2,000,000, inclusive of Government funding and any performer cost share. All changes in the amendment are highlighted in yellow within the original solicitation document.
