Questions received from Contracting relative to the Branding Effort:

1. Metal or wooden frames? Black wood frames are preferred.

2. What are the wall types and conditions? Sheetrock with metal stud? Masonry/brick? Precious wallpaper? Anything like that to know about? The walls are sheetrock with studs. The areas that will be specified will not have special fabric or finishes.

3. In addition to directions on where to install, will directions be provided on which images go in which frames/where? Yes that will be provided

4. What type of floating frame did you require? There are a few options that we can spec out and wanted. We were just specific on the size and that the mounting hardware should be hidden

a. Floating frame 28 X 40” without a mat (glass border) that holds a 24 x 36” image – mounting device would be hidden behind the image

b. Floating frame 20 X 24” without a mat (glass border) that holds a 16 x 20” image – mounting device would be hidden behind the image

5. Also ‐ are you okay with UV acrylic instead of glass? We specified that it was UV glass, tempered, matte finish. The concern with acrylic is that it scratches. Also does the acrylic come in non‐ glare, provide UV protection and prevent yellow over time?

6. Will the images be provided for printing? Yes that will be provided

7. If so, will they be copyright free or certified legal to print? The images cannot be sold or shared by anyone, they are property of the U.S. Government and are not to be used outside of our job.

There will also be personal images that have been kindly donated to this project from various DEA folks and are the copyright holders of said images. That should be explicit in the contract.

8. Will any of the images in the frames be duplicates? Yes some of the images will be reused throughout the design

9. Will the frames be installed in one building or multiple buildings? There are 2 buildings that will be included. They are located next door to each other.

10. What is the frame number/profile of the 2” black frame, or is it vendors choice? Vendors choice to propose based on the specs provided.

11. Will you specify the color of the “white” mat – mat brand/id number? Vendors choice to propose based on white mat choices available.

12. What type of wall(s) will the frames be installed on? The walls are sheetrock with studs. The areas that will be specified will not have special fabric or finishes.

13. What type of hanger/hanger system is preferred to install the frames? The least damaging to the walls is the preferred.

14. Will acrylic work as an alternate in place of the glass, tempered glass for the framed photos? We specified that it was UV glass, tempered, matte finish. The concern with acrylic is that it scratches. Also does the acrylic come in non‐glare, provide UV protection and prevent yellow over time?

15. Can you clarify "float/floating" in the SOW? Some use float to indicate matteless... others use float to indicate see‐through around the photo to the wall. In some of those cases the photo print is sandwiched between two panes of glass. (See attachment). Floating is a matteless/frameless option. See through around the photo to the wall with the mounting hardware hidden.

16. Can you share a sample digital file? Here are 2 samples. Also note that the files will vary in resolution, but we will not submit any files that are less than 150 dpi at the physical dimensions needed. For example 24x36 @ 150dpi or greater.

17. Firstly, is this diagram (see attachment) an accurate representation of what the department wants? Yes

18. Is the 2" of thickness of the frame referring to what's represented in the "front view?" Yes with a

2” mat border inside the frame around the photo.

19. Or is the 2" of thickness referring to the dimensional height of the frame? It is not referring to the thickness of the frame from a side view. That seems too thick off the wall.

20. If it is not referring to the dimensional height, then is there any preference for the height of the frame? Standard height would be preferred. We would not want custom.

21. Could you please tell me if the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number D‐

21‐FS‐0103 will be a follow‐on requirement to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement? This is a new requirement, for newly renovated space.

22. Is frame preference to wooden or metal? (Both options are available with 2” cap width but knowing material will narrow cost.) Black Wood is preferred.

23. Is using UV plexiglass instead of UV glass an option? (We recommend this especially on the larger pieces for safety reasons.) We specified that it was UV glass, tempered, matte finish. The concern with acrylic is that it scratches. Also does the acrylic come in non‐glare, provide UV protection and prevent yellow over time?

24. Will installers need a badge to enter the facility or be escorted as a guest? Installers will be checked in at the Visitors Center and then escorted as a guest when installing the pieces in the space.

25. Is there a location to park our vehicle and unload the artworks? Yes there is a loading dock behind both buildings.

26. What are the available times for the installers to enter the facility? Are nights and weekends available? Are there any noise restrictions during office hours? Monday – Friday 6:30am – 5pm is the available times.

27. What kind of walls will the artworks be installed onto? Is it drywall, brick, plaster, or concrete?

The walls are sheetrock with studs. The areas that will be specified will not have special fabric or finishes.

28. What is the requirements or preferences for hanging the artwork? Will it be D‐rings (duo rings), saw tooth hangers, or wire? The least damaging to the walls is the preferred.

29. Does the government want the floating frames to be raised or flush? Floating is a matteless/frameless option. See through around the photo to the wall with the mounting hardware hidden. When the mounting hardware is on – as close to flush as possible.

30. The dimensions for the requested prints (24”x36” and 16”x20”) and frames (28”x40” and 20”x24”) will have a 4” spacing gap. The requested 2” white mat border does not align with the prints and frames. Does the government want the prints to be 26”x38” and 18’x22” with 2” white mat border and the frames to be 28”x40” and 20”x24”? Or the white mat borders to be 4” and prints (24”x36” and 16”x20”) and frames (28”x40” and 20”x24”)? Or the white mat borders to be 2” and prints (24”x36” and 16”x20”) and frames (26”x38” and 18”x22”)? The 2” for the frame was included in the size. So we would prefer the white mat borders to be 2” and prints (24”x36” and 16”x20”) and frames (26”x38” and 18”x22”)

31. Will the images need to be removable from the frames or can they be permanently attached to the frames? The images need to be removable so that over time they can be updated.

32. For CLIN003 and CLIN004, does the picture floats in the glass with a 2" spacing around the image with no visible black frame? Or do you truly want the image float framed (glass) with 2" thick black floater frame (wood) around it? ? Floating is a matteless/frameless option. See through around the photo to the wall with the mounting hardware hidden. No visible frame or mat.

33. For CLIN003 and CLIN004, does the floating frame with glass border need to have one piece of glass over the image (with this option the image is not removable and permanent, please see image below) or 2 pieces of glass sandwiching the image in the middle? 2 pieces of glass sandwiching the image so they are not permanent and can be interchanged and updated over time.
