FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) SERVICES
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
Annual maintenance support services and warranty package for a Simoa HD-1 Analyzer.
Statement of Need, Purpose, and/or Objective:
The purpose of this requirement is to procure an annual maintenance support services and warranty package for a Simoa HD-1 Analyzer, laboratory equipment owned and operated by the National Institute on Aging (NIA). The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the tasks and deliverables described in this Statement of Work (SOW).
Background Information:
It has become of great importance to pull and test samples periodically to make sure the molecular integrity of proteins in the biospecimens is preserved during storage in the freezers located in the NIA Biorepository. Temperature changes can take place infrequently or occur over a period of time that can potentially harm the biospecimens’ integrity. The Freezer Farm Quality Control (Q.C.) Project was designed to test control pools of human serum and plasma stored in every freezer for analytes that are relatively sensitive to temperature change (e.g., enzymes, cytokines, etc.). The Simoa HD-1 Analyzer will be used yearly for the Q.C. project by the simultaneous quantification of IL- 10, IL-6, TNF-alpha, GM-CSF and IL-15. This will enable quantitative assessment of the quality of sample storage over time and help us maintain the integrity of biospecimens over the course of data collection.
Period of Performance:
The period of performance is from May 7, 2021 to May 6, 2022.
Place of Performance:
The place of performance shall be the Clinical Research Core/Core Lab site located at 251 Bayview Blvd, Room 08B014A, Baltimore MD 21224
