About this file
This document is a contract amendment between the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and Northern Arizona University (NAU), specifically Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. CTR063972 for the Accelerated Nursing Program - Component B Scholarships. The amendment involves the Arizona Department of Health Services' Bureau of Women's and Children's Health (BWCH) and the Primary Care Office (PCO), focusing on a scholarship program for nursing students in Arizona.
The contract amendment extends the existing scholarship program through June 30, 2025, with the primary objective of expanding the nursing workforce in Arizona. The program provides scholarships to students in accelerated nursing programs at public and private universities and community colleges, with a preference for twelve-month programs. Scholarships are designed to cover tuition and fees, with recipients required to practice nursing in Arizona for at least four years after completing their degree. The program is funded through state general funds allocated by House Bill 2863, with $44,000,000 dedicated to supporting accelerated nursing programs and expanding program capacity. Key requirements include using at least 80% of funds for scholarships, establishing contract templates for scholarship recipients, and submitting monthly and biannual reports tracking scholarship recipients and their service commitments.
