About this file

This is a Contract Amendment issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Office of Procurement, specifically Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. CTR063969. The contract is with the Arizona Board of Regents on behalf of Arizona State University (ASU), focused on implementing an Accelerated Nursing Program scholarship initiative. The amendment extends the contract period from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, aligning with state legislative efforts to address nursing workforce shortages in Arizona.

The contract establishes a scholarship program for students enrolled in accelerated nursing programs at public and private universities and community colleges in Arizona. The program aims to expand nursing workforce capacity, with priority given to twelve-month programs. Key requirements include awarding scholarships that do not supplant other financial aid, ensuring scholarships do not exceed actual tuition and fees, and establishing a contract requiring scholarship recipients to practice nursing in Arizona for at least four years after completing their degree. The program is funded through state general funds, with $44,000,000 allocated to support public and private universities and community colleges offering accelerated nursing programs. At least 80% of received funds must be used for scholarships, with no more than 20% allocated to administrative expenses.
