1) Purpose

3) Cost

• Hosted Event by COE-specialized for corrections, onsite delivery across two days, plus preparation and AV Equipment for ODRC in Columbus Ohio, Hyatt Regency Columbus Downtown - $25,551.00

• Registration (OCSS attendees: $544 x 13): $7,072.00 - billed separately

• GRAND TOTAL: $32,623

4) Single‑Source Rationale

• Unique qualifications: The COE Candidate Academy is curated and delivered by the Council on Occupational Education’s training leaders and subject-matter experts. Ms. Campbell leads training at COE and develops the Candidate Academy content used by institutions pursuing candidacy. Ms. Campbell and the accompanying team maintain direct, current familiarity with the COE Handbook, Policies & Rules, EDvera forms, and visit preparation practices.

• Fit & alignment: OCSS requires content and tools that align precisely with COE requirements and evaluation expectations; generic accreditation consultants cannot provide authoritative led training with the same expertise and fidelity

• Continuity: OCSS is planning a focused candidacy timeline; use of the COE training lead ensures continuity between Academy guidance and subsequent readiness checks.

• Time sensitivity: With delivery scheduled for January 13–14, 2026, OCSS will be eligible to submit the Candidate for Accreditation application as early as January 21, 2026, for their 2026 and 2027 Cohorts

5) Required Timelines & Milestones

• Candidate Academy (onsite): January 13-14, 2026 (Hyatt Columbus)

• 2026 Candidate Application Due Dates: January 21, April 22, July 22, October 21

• 2026 Commission Meetings: March 5-6, June 3-4, September 10-11, December 9-10

• Candidate Academy Team Arrival/Departure: January 12, 2026/January 15, 2026

• Candidate Academy (onsite): January 13–14, 2026 (Hyatt Columbus)

6) Consequences/Risks if Not Performed or Delayed

• Schedule impact: Slippage would compress or miss key Commission Meeting cycle windows and delay candidacy milestones.

• Compliance readiness: Without Candidate Academy workshops, EDvera submissions may be incomplete/misaligned, increasing the likelihood of findings and rework.

• Financial/operational impact: Travel requirements and potential disruption to accreditation milestones.

• Stakeholder confidence: Reduced staff readiness for accreditation

7) Reasonableness of Price

The proposed budget reflects specialized expertise, and onsite delivery across two days, plus preparation and follow‑up. Comparable internal capacity does not exist; substitution is not possible; candidate academy is required for all institutions seeking to apply for accreditation with COE.
