About this file

This document is a Settlement Agreement between the State of Florida, Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and Rutledge Ecenia, P.A., a legal services firm. The agreement concerns professional services rendered for two separate matters: the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills, LLC legal case and an Emergency Generator Rule, both under Contract Number EXD074. The document includes detailed invoices from Rutledge Ecenia for legal services performed between September 22-27, 2017, with two separate invoices totaling $20,075.00 ($18,535.00 for the Hollywood Hills case and $1,540.00 for the Emergency Generator Rule).

The settlement resolves invoices for legal services that were initiated before the formal contract execution, with AHCA agreeing to submit payment to the Chief Financial Officer for the full amount of $20,075.00. The services included legal research, drafting motions, reviewing background documents, attending meetings, and preparing strategies related to administrative and appellate procedures concerning the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills and emergency rules. The invoices detail specific tasks performed by various attorneys at different billing rates, with hours ranging from 0.20 to 2.80 hours per task. The agreement stipulates that by accepting payment, Rutledge Ecenia releases AHCA from all claims related to these services, and the payment is contingent upon review and approval by the Chief Financial Officer.
