Financial Project ID: 428624-1-32-01
The principal intent of this project is to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge (No. 500033) on CR 159 over Attapulgus Creek in Gadsden County, Florida, northwest of Havana. The roadway approaches should be resurfaced/reconstructed as appropriate, but as a minimum to the extent of the new guardrail. At the project location, the existing roadway typical section consists of two 11' lanes and 6' shoulders (5' paved). The existing bridge typical section consists of two 12' lanes, with no shoulders. The existing capacity (2 lanes) shall remain the same for the new bridge.
FINAL A-15 FPID: 428624-1-32-01
The new structure shall be constructed along the existing horizontal alignment.
This existing bridge is Scour Critical and a Phase 4 Scour Report has been completed.
The posted speed limit on CR 159 is 55 mph within the project limits. An appropriate design speed will need to be determined during design.
Evaluate constructing an onsite temporary diversion adjacent to the existing bridge.
The existing right-of-way varies between 70’ and 120’. Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated in order to construct the new roadway and bridge typical sections.
The onsite temporary diversion will likely require a temporary construction easement.
The anticipated project limits, including roadway approaches, are from CMP 3.850 to CMP 3.997. Project limits will be adjusted during design based on the new bridge length and roadway approaches. The overall anticipated project length is 0.147 miles.
COORDINATION REQUIREMENTS: This project should be coordinated with any and all adjacent County, State or private projects. There have been NO adjacent projects identified at this time.
All necessary Geotechnical efforts will be provided by the CONSULTANT.
This project will be let to construction as a Conventional Bid Item project.
