About this file
This is a Certification Regarding Investments in Iran form required by the State of Maryland under State Finance & Procurement Article 17-701 through 17-707. The certification applies to all entities bidding on or renewing contracts with state agencies and public bodies in Maryland. The document establishes eligibility requirements for participation in state procurements by requiring bidders to certify they are not identified on the Board of Public Works' Investment Activities in Iran list and are not engaging in investment activities in Iran as defined by state law.
The Investment Activities in Iran list identifies companies that provide goods or services of at least $20 million in Iran's energy sector or, for financial institutions, extend credit of at least $20 million for at least 45 days to support such activities. Companies listed on this registry, along with their parent companies, successors, subsidiaries, and entities under common ownership or control, are ineligible to bid on, propose for, or renew contracts with state agencies or public bodies. The certification requirement applies only to new contracts and contract renewals; existing contracts with listed companies need not be terminated. Authorized representatives must sign and date the certification, with witness attestation required. Bidders unable to make the certification must identify the specific investment activities preventing compliance.
