Survey and Certification Group Infection Control and Prevention Consultant

Statement of Work (SOW)

Schedule of Deliverables The contractor shall submit all deliverables in accordance with the following schedule.

Task 1: Meeting and Reporting requirements

1.1 Monthly Status Meetings

Task 2: Infection Control and Prevention Policy Support to the Division of Nursing Homes (DNH)

2.1 Technical Assistance with the

Nursing Home Survey

Report of survey guidance recommendations

Monthly or as directed by the COR

Maintenance of a tracking log of ad hoc survey guidance requests received

Include in monthly report

2.2 Infection Control Survey Training

Materials

Training curricula and supporting materials

2.3 Development of new Nursing

Home Survey Infection Control Worksheet

Develop a Nursing Home surveyor infection control worksheet in collaboration with CDC and CMS

Develop surveyor training on the use of the infection control worksheet

As directed by the

COR

Participate in and monitor 80 (40 hospital and 40 nursing home) surveys using the infection control worksheet and providing infection control technical assistance.

As directed by the

COR

Task 3: Develop Infection Control Guidance across Survey and Certification Group (SCG) Provider Types

3.1. The contractor will work with the

(CDC/DHQP, SCG), and other CMS components, including Technical Expert Panel, to improve survey protocols that investigate infection control compliance across provider types.

Provide recommendations on survey improvement procedures and worksheets directed by the

COR

Provide recommendations for improvements in surveyor training

Provide training material As directed by the

Produce a report on interpretive guidance analysis

3.2. As directed by the GTL or COR, research and develop standardized infection control survey protocols that may be applied to all provider types for future testing.

Submit updated recommendations on improvements to infection control surveyor worksheets

As directed by the

COR

Produce a cross-provider universal infection control training course

As directed by the

COR

Make field visits with SCG staff or other contractors to test revisions to surveyor worksheets as needed

Task 4: Stakeholder Outreach, Engagement, and Presentations

4.1 Formal Infection Control Policy

Communication

Written infection control responses as requested by SCG staff

As directed by the

COR

Record of written responses issued to SCG provider types for organization and tracking purposes directed by the COR

4.2 Stakeholder Outreach

Provide updates on developments in infection control policy and practice, standards of care and IC innovations
