4. Color/ Finish Tank and undercarriage are FED-STD-595 color 33303 (SAND) using coating, aliphatic polyurethane, and chemical resistant (CARC) paint to
MIL-DTL-53039B
Decals & Markings Fuel/ De-Fuel Cart is decaled to include warning decals, product decals, placards and “JP-8 fuel”
5. Interface, Electrical
- 24-28.5 V DC and
- 110vAC 50-60hz
6. Connectors, Electrical
- For 28vDC: NATO Standard per MS3506-1
- 110vAC: NEMA 5-15 male standard
7. Operating Environment- Pumps must operate without performance degradation in the following environments:
1. Ambient air temperatures from 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Relative humidity from 5% to 95% (non-condensing)
3. Density altitudes up to 9000 feet.
8. Mechanical Interface
- Fueling Nozzle
- De-fueling adapter assembly
Fuel Container
The fuel tank is a 250 gallon nominal capacity tank with an actual capacity of 280 gallons to accommodate vapor expansion. The tank is a top fill, baffled and pressure tested vessel. Tank includes the following design features:
- Stainless Steel construction with secondary containment
- DOT406 Style manway/ top fill opening with cove access & overpressure protection
- Low point sump with water drain
- Fuel level indicator with ¼ tank capacity increments
- Vent shield kit to prevent rain intrusion
Chassis and Fuel Transfer
The fuel/ de-fuel cart undercarriage must use a towable two axle, four wheeled rolling chassis design that is self-supported on its own rigid or non-suspension axle mount configuration suitable for ramp usage at speeds up to 15 MPH. It must be designed with a steerable front tow bar so that it is easily towed or tugged with normal aircraft ramp equipment. The tow bar must include a mechanism to hold it in the upright position when not configured for towing to mitigate tripping hazards.
Fuel/ De-fuel cart must include two pumps; one for fueling and a second, smaller pump for de-fueling operations. The main fueling pump will be capable of recirculation fuel from the reservoir, through the filter-separator elements for the field fuel decontamination. The same fuel line with quick-disconnect fitting on the end will be used for both fueling and de-fuel fitting, and operating a switch and/or valve both the fueler. Fuel will be filtered in both operations utilizing Aviation grade, dual stage fuel filtration - required to be Category “M” filter/separators are for use in military JP-8 (NATO F-34), Jet A-1 (NATO F-35), F-24 (Jet A++). Required to be tested in fuel containing Stadis 450, DCI-4A, and anti-icing additive Di-EGME. (Note: testing to Category “M” also qualifies for Category “C”.) (Particulates, first stage water removal) and a Monitor (second stage fuel dryer)
