About this file

This is a project scope document for the Block 8R Underground Utility Project (UUP) in the City of San Diego, California, involving the conversion of overhead utilities to underground infrastructure. The project encompasses trench and conduit (T&C) work in the city's right-of-way for multiple utility providers including SDG&E, COX Communications, AT&T, Crown Castle, Wyyerd Fiber, and the City of San Diego's streetlights. The contractor is responsible for all management, documentation, labor, materials, services, and equipment necessary to complete T&C work, with service work on private properties having been completed under a separate contract. The contractor will initiate work from designated transition points and extend into the right-of-way as specified in contract documents. The contractor must install all conduits with pull ropes and appropriate labeling per plans, along with all equipment pads and substructures as indicated, furnishing pads for SDG&E and the City of San Diego's streetlights while other utility companies will supply their own components for installation.

The project specifies a clear division of responsibilities regarding conduit and pad provision, with the contractor sourcing materials for SDG&E and city streetlight infrastructure while other utility providers supply their own equipment for installation. Individual utility companies will conduct all cabling work independently. No specific pricing, contract term, award date, site visit schedule, or bidder meeting information is provided in this document. The scope defines technical requirements and work boundaries but does not address compensation structure, funding sources, or contract duration parameters.
