Santa Cruz District Refuse, Organics & Recycling Disposal Services - Bid Notice Summary

This bid notice, issued by the California Department of Parks and Recreation for the Santa Cruz District, solicits proposals for refuse, organics, and mixed recycling disposal services across State Park and State Beach facilities located in Santa Cruz County and San Mateo County. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment to haul and dispose of refuse, organics, and mixed recycling while maintaining compliance with state environmental and sustainability standards. The notice includes specific response dates and due dates for bid submissions, with provisions for potential site visits and bidders' meetings to allow prospective contractors to familiarize themselves with facility locations and operational requirements. The resulting contract will establish a defined term with potential renewal options to ensure continuity of waste management services across the district's multiple facilities.

The pricing structure and financial terms are contingent upon the scope of services required across the various facilities and disposal methods for the three waste streams. The solicitation may include set-asides for qualified vendors and will identify any incumbent contractor information relevant to the transition of services. Funding for this contract will be derived from the California Department of Parks and Recreation's operational budget, with specific amounts and cost allocations determined based on the volume of waste generated and disposal requirements at each facility location within the Santa Cruz District.
