About this file
This is a Bid Notice from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for the Terminal 3 West Modernization project, specifically soliciting bids for TP 245 - East: Foundations/Piles work. The project encompasses the expansion of Terminal 3 by approximately 631,022 gross square feet and renovation of approximately 516,644 gross square feet of existing facility space. A key component is the Courtyard 4 Connector (C4C), a new 7-story core-and-shell building to be constructed between Terminal 3 and the International Terminal, designed to include secure passenger corridors, baggage handling systems, office space, passenger lounges, employee amenities, a Customs & Border Protection security checkpoint, loading dock, mechanical penthouse, and pump station upgrades. The terminal will remain operational throughout construction, requiring extensive phasing. The notice solicits bids for foundation and pile work as part of this larger modernization initiative that aims to upgrade building systems, implement seismic retrofit measures, improve passenger flow, enhance the overall passenger experience, and add new gates to maximize operational flexibility.
The bid notice establishes the procurement framework for foundation and pile construction activities under the Terminal 3 West Modernization Program, which represents a continuation of SFO's terminal improvement efforts that previously included Boarding Area E and Terminal 3 East renovations. Specific details regarding bid submission deadlines, pre-bid meetings or site visits, bonding requirements, insurance specifications, pricing terms, small business set-asides, and contract award timelines would be contained within the full bid notice documentation and should be reviewed in detail by prospective bidders prior to submission.

Courtyard 4 Connector (C4C)
The Courtyard 4 Connector (C4C) Project is a new 7-story core-and-shell building, part of the overall Terminal 3 West (T3W)
Modernization Project. The T3W Project is a continuation of the Terminal 3 (T3) Program at San Francisco International Airport
(SFO), which began with renovations and expansions of Boarding Area E (BAE) and Terminal 3 East (T3E). The T3W Project will renovate the western half of Terminal 3 to the same level of passenger experience that was achieved in the other airport terminal projects.
The Courtyard 4 Connector Building will be built between Terminal 3 and the International Terminal (ITB) and will include secure passenger corridors and baggage handling systems connecting T3 and ITB. Additionally, the project will consist of space for offices, assembly (passenger lounges), airport employee amenity space, Customs & Border Protection (CBP) One-Stop passenger security screening checkpoint, loading dock, rooftop mechanical penthouse, and mechanical system upgrades within the existing pump station. Level 1 of C4C is open to the airfield and apron program while levels 2 and 3 are directly connected to T3 and are considered as an extension of that building for egress and plumbing fixture provisions.
