Boar Buster Drop Traps (4)

The Hog Eye camera systems paired with the Boar

Buster drop trap uses a different approach to trapping feral swine by dropping the entire trap.

This method allows the catch of cautious pigs that otherwise would not walk into a traditional style trap. The whole trap is suspended in the air and has an 18 ft. diameter catch ring. This allows for large feral swine sounder catches and reduces the number of feral swine that become trap shy. The boar buster is made of heavy material and commonly requires two employees to breakdown and move.

Big Pig Trailer Trap Systems (7)

Big Pig Panel Trap without Trailer (6)

The Big Pig Panel Trap is designed for the trapper that requires a large, dual gate, panel style trapping system, easily transported, and set up with a single man. Each trap comes with two gates, which can be used as an entry point on each end of the trap and can be dropped simultaneously. This two gate drop method allows for feral swine to see through the trap which causes them to be less cautious. The 6¿ panels and integrated gate system can be quickly disassembled allowing one person to safely erect or deconstruct the trap with minimal time and effort. The trailer is specifically designed to hold the trap system with a narrow foot print allowing it to be pulled by most any UTV or ATV with a standard 2¿ trailer ball; yet is engineered to handle highway speeds. The trailer is also capable of housing additional panels and gates allowing the trap to be expanded if needed.

Consisting of approximately 300 square feet of area (standard setup) with the ability to easily add panels and gates, the Big Pig Panel Trap can easily be adapted to a variety of trapping scenarios. Panels are lighter and easily moved;

this is important safety factor when field employees are trapping alone.

The Big Pig Drop trap is another whole fall trap technique. The entire trap is lifted and suspended in the air until it is triggered to fall around the targets. The trap can be monitored and triggered using a Hogeye Camera and phone app. This trap design consists of 4 panel sections that bolt together. The trap is winched up using a cross sectional design of square tubing and 4 legs. The trap is 12¿ in diameter making it smaller than some other drop traps. It is better for smaller sounders of feral swine or single boars. The smaller size also makes this trap much easier for one employee to move when trapping alone. The panels have a 10¿ inner extension ring on the top to prevent feral swine from escaping out of the top of the trap. This trap will also fit on the Big Pig trailers for easier transport.

Back Ground: Mississippi’s USDA APHIS WS Feral Swine Program is requesting seven Big Pig Panel Trap Systems with Trailers and paired with seven Hogeye Cameras, four Big Pig Drop Trap Systems paired with four Hogeye Cameras, four Boar Buster traps paired with four Hogeye Cameras, and six Big Pig Panel trap systems with no camera or trailer for aiding in remotely trapping feral swine. The trap can be monitored and triggered using a Hogeye Camera and phone app. This trap design consists of 4 panel sections that bolt together. The trap is winched up using a cross sectional design of square tubing and 4 legs. The trap is 12’ in diameter making it smaller than some other drop traps.

It is better for smaller sounders of feral swine or single boars. The smaller size also makes this trap much easier for one employee to move when trapping alone. The panels have a 10” inner extension ring on the top to prevent feral swine from escaping out of the top of the trap.

This trap will also fit on the Big Pig trailers for easier transport.
