About this file

This document is a sole source justification for the acquisition of an annual maintenance contract for a QX200 AutoDG Droplet Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) System owned by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Fort Collins Science Center (FORT). The maintenance service package covers preventative maintenance visits, technical assistance, and service for the system, which consists of two instruments - an Auto Droplet Generator and a Droplet reader. The estimated value of the base year contract awarded on a sole source basis to BioRad is $. USGS FORT requires this proprietary maintenance due to BioRad's exclusive training and support for the system. While other vendors responded to a sources sought notice, none demonstrated the ability to meet the maintenance requirements for this specialized equipment. The Government will pursue future competition when practicable.
