1. Shall consist of a submersible electronic instrument used for measuring the intensity of fluorescence for biochemical analysis purposes.

2. Shall be capable of supporting up to, at least, 6 different types of optical sensors.

3. Shall include, at a minimum, the following types of optical sensor measurements:

Turbidity with a minimum detection limit (MDL) of 0.05 NTU and a range of 0-1500 NTU.

Optical Brighteners with custom configurations: excitation range of 360-370 nm and emission range of 415-440 nm.

Fluorescein with a MDL of 0.01 ppb and a range of 0-500 ppb.

Tryptophan with a MDL of 3 ppb and a range of 0-5000 ppb.

Chlorophyll (Blue excitation) with a MDL of 0.03ug/L and a range of 0-500 ug/L.

Chlorophyll (Red excitation) with a MDL of 0.03ug/L and a range of 0-500 ug/L.

4. Shall include a built-in pressure sensor capable of measuring depths up to 500 meters.

5. Shall include a built-in temperature sensor.

6. Shall be constructed of a durable plastic housing and stainless-steel components that are resistant to harsh environments.

7. Shall have a sample interval of 1 Hz or less.

8. Shall have an internal memory capacity of at least 60,000 data points.

9. Shall be capable of outputting data in digital ASCII format.

10. Shall include an RS232 interface.

11. Shall operate from external 12 VDC (nominal) power.

12. Shall include an external submersible lithium-ion battery pack.

13. Battery pack shall be capable of protecting instrument against overcharging, over-discharging, overheating, and short-circuiting.

14. Shall include a built-in multiple-arm, copper mechanical wiper.

15. Shall include 110 VAC power cord.

16. Shall include all applicable firmware and software necessary to operate and maintain the system.

17. Shall come 12-volt power supply and all applicable cables including, but not limited to, PC interface cable, communication cable, USB cable with DB-9 male/female connectors, and female end plug.

2 EA, Antifouling Plate:

18. Shall be compatible with fluorometer described above.

19. Shall be made of copper material.

20. Shall easily attach to the optical head of the fluorometer.

21. Shall deter growth of organisms on or near the optical sensors.

22. Shall including mounting hardware (screws) and thread locker.

2 EA, Shade Cap:

23. Shall be compatible with fluorometer described above.

24. Shall be made of same plastic material as fluorometer.

25. Shall provide a fixed distance for sample measurement and minimize the effects from ambient light.

26. Shall protect the optics and prevent damage during deployment and transport of the system.
